Subsequent to the Brentwood Spiritual Studies Institute's report (below) in 2011-2012 and its reported concern of the unaffiliated religious populace, in late 2012 and 2013 the Pew Research Group began to release more extensive findings on those who do not identify with a religious affiliation. Public conversations and research have since been more evident in 2013 through various authors and media outlets to bring this serious concern of the unaffiliated religious populace forward. How it will be addressed is yet to be determined fully but the initiative to develop better understanding and awareness is at hand.
