An ERA would provide the authority of the law to uphold the authority of women as equal to male authority. This would inevitably work to change the social system to a more balanced and healthier system as it does not change what God endowed to mankind it only changes the authority that man has created and commanded for himself.
In light of the sexual assault issues in the US military against women and the disparaging statistics on domestic violence against women today, America need consider an Equal Rights Amendment to balance the over-assertion of authority that men may be exhibiting today. A recent gender relations study by the Brentwood Spiritual Studies Institute clearly indicated a need to balance authorities be/ men & women today. Page 12 of the study indicates that there may be an issue with male over-assertion that is not evident in simple statistical analysis. The need to address this concern is evident in our society today. Unfortunately, most women are not empowered to fight for their rights for fear of being harmed.
An ERA could help men back to a more caring attitude toward women that is less commanding and aggressive. It would give them leadership powers that are not as susceptible to prejudice and personal preference.
