Before the establishment of cyberspace as a legitimate sphere of influence and communication, social habits and protocols required more person-to-person interaction to set standards of engagement and community.
When two people or a group of people intended to engage with another person the option to know them in the subtle realms of the psyche required ongoing personal interaction and engagements to establish personal boundaries for such deeper interaction. This particularly included establishing protocols for reaching into the psyche and subtle realities of a relationship.
In today’s social sphere, as in the cyberspaces, it seems that “whatever you can access is yours” to do and use as you please. This begins at the realms of our government and the recent crisis with the NSA around the world that opened the doors to such engagement with any nation as they pleased, regardless of standards and protocols of such engagement, or the will of the besieged nation.
Such loose standards are aberrant and in many ways disgraceful to the socio-spiritual truths many people are learned in and accustomed to in their way of life. The need to rein in and address friendly relations with others with ongoing mutual regard and consent is still essential today.
Like cyber-habits online, access to another person or nation against their will may not cause physical damage but it can disrupts lives and cause psychological and emotional distress, requiring investigation and analysis to understand that the disruption is not about ineptitude. Rather, the disruption is an unwarranted assault by another force that disregarded rules of life.
To be sincere, clear and honest with each other is the best and safest way to live. Nations and people need to arrange rules for engagement with each other and sustain the integrity of our humanity by staying within those structures. This requires meeting eye-to-eye and shaking hands (or hugs) that acknowledge our humanity together. Somehow, those mysterious invisible spaces are still a little too inhuman to accept solely as an appreciable force of life.
