It has been a couple months since Food & Wine printed Eric Lorincz's mixology from the Savoy Hotel for the Daisy cocktail. I have waited to be able to study this cocktail (from American soil in Los Angeles) and realized that the ruby port is overwhelming in the mixology. I would change it to 2 oz of the Diplomatico rum, 1 oz of the Port, 1/2 oz of Bacardi and 1 oz of pure pomegranate juice (instead of grenadine). If there is a need to sweeten further than what is natural I'd add a a little pure can sugar syrup instead of the muscavado. This may seem bold but safe and adaptable in a new paradigm.
